About Arc Flash Risk Assessments
Arc flash risk assessments are required to be performed for any electrical distribution equipment that may be worked on while energized. In the United States, the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) can and does cite companies who do not provide protection for their employees against arc flash hazards. Although the OSHA 1910 standard does not specifically define all the procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) necessary for a sufficient arc flash safety program, it does recognize the NFPA 70E standard as the best practices for implementation of a comprehensive electrical safety program.
Triad Consulting Engineers, Inc. is qualified to provide the electrical engineering analysis necessary to ensure compliance with the latest arc flash requirements. All our work is performed and certified by a licensed Professional Engineer to ensure strict conformance to NFPA, OSHA, and local code requirements. We currently maintain active SKM databases for power system and arc flash analyses for numerous banks, data centers, refineries, and pharmaceutical companies around the country.
